Effective migration governance at the local level requires functional coordination mechanisms that bring together government institutions, technical departments, civil society actors, and other relevant stakeholders. To this end, Local Technical Committees (LTCs) have been established to support migration management, migrant protection, labour migration governance, ethical recruitment, and referral pathways at the local level. Through ATUU project support, the LTCs have been formally established and provided with initial capacity-building and technical training. To address these needs, a Local Technical Committee (LTC) on migration management has been established in DCMA as a multi-stakeholder coordination platform. While the DCMA LTC has received initial project support, including formal establishment and capacity-building for its members, its effective functioning and long-term sustainability require dedicated technical and operational coordination. This includes ensuring regular meetings, follow-up on agreed actions, documentation of processes and outcomes, and effective linkages with national-level migration coordination structures.
