Org. Setting and Reporting:This position is located within the United Nations Staff Mutual Insurance Society against Sickness and Accident Unit (UNSMIS) based in The Hague, as part of the Medical Insurance Section, Financial Resources Management Service, Division of Administration of the United Nations Office at Geneva. The incumbent reports to the Administrative and Benefits Officer of the Medical Insurance Section, Chief of Unit.
Responsibilities:Under the supervision of the Administrative and Benefits Officer of the Medical Insurance Section, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: - Processes health insurance claims. Checks medical insurance claims: prior authorizations, relevant documentation, request additional information; - Undertakes actions related to the reimbursement process : verifies and validates bills, applies reimbursement codes, and effects data validation in the MIUS (Medical Insurance Underwriting System) and the e-Claims portal of UNSMIS; - Assists as required to the daily administration of UNSMIS email boxes; - Assists as required in responding to demands of insured/clients on the reimbursement rules and procedures to respect and provides relevant information related to claims; - Acts as a backup for provision of front office client services; - Performs other tasks that the supervisor has assigned.

Work Experience:At least three (3) years of experience in administration or related field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to one (1) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Two (2) years of experience within the United Nations Common System or similar international organization is desirable. Experience with international health insurance schemes is desirable.
Languages:English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required.
