## PROGRAMME OFFICER (Temporary Job Opening), P3 - Organization:UNOG - United Nations Office at Geneva - Office:UN Office in Geneva Org. Setting and Reporting:This position is located in the Beyond Lab, Office of the Director-General, United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The Programme Officer reports to the Chief of Section, Political Affairs, who serves as Director of the Beyond Lab, and works closely with the Chief of Statistics, Data and Digital Service of the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on joint UNCTAD-Beyond Lab programmes and activities. The focus of this job is the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes, operations and other activities in participatory policy innovation and long-term sustainable development. Responsibilities:Within delegated authority, the Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the assigned programmes/projects on Beyond GDP and rethinking development systems; monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions.Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.Assists in policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Pact for the Future, with a particular focus on promoting inclusive and participatory policymaking, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies.Prepares various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.Provides substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc.Coordinates activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.).Engages and maintains regular coordination with project partners and relevant stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations and other partners, to support the effective implementation of the assigned programmes/projects.Performs other duties as required. - Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the assigned programmes/projects on Beyond GDP and rethinking development systems; monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions. - Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources. - Assists in policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Pact for the Future, with a particular focus on promoting inclusive and participatory policymaking, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies. - Prepares various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc. - Provides substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc. - Coordinates activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.). - Engages and maintains regular coordination with project partners and relevant stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations and other partners, to support the effective implementation of the assigned programmes/projects. - Performs other duties as required.
