WHAT WE DOThe International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral, and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 100 countries and has 18,000 staff worldwide. In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence in Ukraine. Over 700 team members work across the county in various professional fields.ABOUT THE JOBThe ICRCStaff Health Unitseeks a competentStaff Health Officerto join our team inOdesa.The Staff Health Officer in close cooperation with the team members and line managers, the Staff Health Officer will mainly be responsible for implementation of the ICRC Staff Health Strategy in Odesa Sub Delegation and other ICRC sites as per need for the benefit of the ICRC staff. The Staff Health Officer promotes and supports the physical and mental well-being of all ICRC staff by ensuring access to quality healthcare, preventive measures, and psychosocial support.Start date: As soon as possibleNOTE:This position is a temporary maternity leave replacement, with an expected duration subject to the return date of the incumbent. The contract will be issued on a fixed-term basis accordingly.YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESConduct Staff Health briefings for all newly hired ICRC staff, ensuring awareness of staff health policies and servicesAssess and monitor living conditions across all sites to promote general hygiene, safety, and preventive health practicesEvaluate local medical facilities and establish a reliable referral network for staff healthcareProvide confidential support and medical advice to ICRC staff regarding their health and well-beingCoordinate medical evacuations and ensure appropriate care during transport, in collaboration with the Staff Health Unit in KyivImplement and oversee staff health policies and procedures across offices in Kyiv and in LvivPromote mental well-being by implementing the ICRC stress policy and organizing peer support following critical incidentsCollect and analyze staff health data to identify trends and risks, contributing to continuous improvement of health servicesWHAT WE OFFER YOUA great team to work with and an organization where you have an impactEmployment contract according to Ukrainian labor law with flexible working arrangementsCompetitive salary between UAH 60,000 and 88,000 (gross) before taxationMedical insurance for you and your depending family membersComprehensive onboarding and learning opportunities20 working days of annual paid leaveConvenient office location in the city centerThe ICRC is an equal-opportunity employer that prioritizes staff safety and security.
