The model strengthens IDB Invest’s ability to originate high-quality assets, structure innovative financial solutions, and connect global capital with opportunities across the region.About this positionWe are looking for a dynamic professional to support the Portfolio Management Division in monitoring, from signature to final repayment, a portfolio of loans, bonds, guarantees to private sector and non-sovereign-guaranteed infrastructure and energy clients in the Southern Cone.You will work in the Portfolio Management Division, part of the Industries and Cross-Cutting Themes Department (ICT).  This team is responsible for managing and supervising IDB Invest’s portfolio in the region.What you’ll doSupport Portfolio Management Officers in:Overseeing a portfolio of loans, bonds, guarantees, transactions.Conducting data gathering, validation, and analysis of projects in portfolio to assess counterparty performance, monitor compliance with financing agreements, and mitigate risk.Performing financial statement analysis, analyzing financial projections, preparing risk rating proposals and periodic supervision reports to assess the financial and business standing of our counterparts.Following ongoing developments in the relevant industry sectors and countries, assessing events affecting the portfolio under supervision and, when necessary, disseminating information and recommendations for appropriate action.Engaging with borrowers, sponsors, B-lenders, co-lenders, co-investors, advisors, agents and internal counterparts, and participating in client monitoring meetings, as applicable.Preparing presentations, performance metrics assessments, and tailored materials for internal and external audiences, and contributing to the development and assessment of developmental effectiveness indicators.Ensuring that counterparts comply with IDB Invest internal risk policies and guidelines, liaising closely with the credit risk management, environmental and social, legal and finance departments, among others.Proposing and supporting actions to improve and streamline internal processes.Providing support to the Portfolio Management Division and the ICT Department in all other tasks required.What you'll needEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Development Studies, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.Experience:At least two (2) years of experience in credit assessment and/or rating of financial intermediaries and/or corporate counterparts, gained within a commercial, investment or development bank, financial institution, financial advisory firm and/or rating agency. You have a clear understanding of the operational work of IDB Invest or a similar multilateral institution, sector knowledge in the industries in which we operate as well as experience in an international environment, preferably in Latin America and the Caribbean.Languages:Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional    knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.RequirementsCitizenship:Must be eligible to work in job location (Chile) without the need for sponsorship from IDB Invest.Consanguinity:You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.Type of contract and durationNational consultant Full-Time, 36 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).What we offerThe IDB Group provides benefits that respond to the different needs and moments of an employee's life.
