This WASH Officer level 2 position is to be based in Kharkiv Field Office where WASH is a substantial component of the Country Programme. The WASH Officer reports to the WASH Specialist who is at Level 3. The WASH Officer provides technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process. The Officer prepares, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the country programme. The responsibilities will centre around few key areas: - Programme development and planning - Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results - Technical and operational support for programme implementation - Support to WASH infrastructure development: technical documentation, procurement and construction supervision - Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response - Networking and partnership building - Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building The support provided by the WASH Officer will enable the Field office to achieve the WASH-related output results of the country programme. This, in turn, will contribute to the achievement of the outcome results of the country programme document. When done effectively, the achievement of the outcome results will improve child survival, growth and development, and reduce inequalities in the country. Minimum requirements: - Education:Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Engineering, Public Health, Social Science, Behavioral Science, Engineering-Civil, Engineering-Environmental, Engineering-Industrial, Behavior Change Communication, Sanitary Engineering and any other related fields. - Work Experience:At least 2 years of relevant work experience in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Water supply, Sanitation, Hygiene, WASH infrastructure, WASH-related programmes for developing countries and any other related fields. - Skills:Knowledge of Humanitarian WASH, Programme/project management, Monitoring and evaluation, Capacity development, Knowledge management, National government WASH policies and strategies. - Language Requirements:Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required. - Language: Knowledge of another official UN language. - Humanitarian work, Humanitarian WASH experience, WASH in schools and health centers experience, Environmental and social safeguards, Construction contract management, Donor reporting experience is an asset. - Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
