The position provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the nutrition programmes/projects within the Country Programme, from development planning to delivery of results. In doing so, the incumbent implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results. 1. Minimum requirements: - Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences or another health-related science field is required. - Work Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in Nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care is required. - Skills: Ability to apply technical knowledge of maternal, infant, young child, adolescent, and public health nutrition to support the delivery of evidence-based nutrition programmes and interventions is required. Ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify programme bottlenecks, assess risks, and support adaptive management to improve nutrition outcomes is required. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret nutrition, health, and programme performance information and translate findings into practical recommendations for action are required. Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences and support advocacy for nutrition priorities is required. Ability to support monitoring of programme performance, track results, ensure quality reporting, and contribute to effective resource management is required. Ability to facilitate learning, knowledge exchange, and capacity strengthening among programme staff, partners, and stakeholders is required. Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in support of nutrition objectives is required. Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required. - Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language (Sinhala and/or Tamil) is an asset. - Experience in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of nutrition programmes, particularly in maternal, infant, young child, and adolescent nutrition is an asset. - Experience generating, managing, analyzing, and applying nutrition-related evidence from surveys, assessments, programme reviews, research, and routine monitoring systems to inform programme and policy decisions is an asset. - Experience working with government institutions and multi-sector stakeholders to strengthen nutrition policies, systems, coordination mechanisms, and service delivery is an asset. - Experience in health and/or nutrition programmes within a UN agency, international organization, government institution, research institution, NGO, or development partner setting is an asset. - Experience supporting programmes in development, humanitarian, emergency preparedness, resilience-building, or nexus contexts is an asset. - Knowledge of Sri Lanka's nutrition, health, and public sector systems, including relevant policies, strategies, and coordination mechanisms is an asset. - Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable UNICEF's Core Values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust and Accountability and Sustainability (CRITAS) underpin everything we do and how we do it.
