The adolescent & youth development programme is a major component of the Country Programme. The position of Youth & Adolescent Development Officer is located in Field Office and reports to the Programme Specialist for supervision. The Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process to support the integration of adolescent & youth development and participation in programmes/projects within the Country Programme. The Officer is responsible for preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to support the development and formulation of the adolescent & youth development and participation programmes/projects within the Country Programme. Summary of key functions/accountabilities: - Support to programme development and planning - Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results - Technical and operational support to programme implementation - Networking and partnership building - Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building The support, research and technical analysis provided by the incumbent strengthens the advocacy, planning and formulation of youth and adolescent development and participation programmes. The achievement of concrete and sustainable results from these programmes contributes to achievement of UNICEF goals in the country to promote the full and active participation of youth and adolescents in determining their essential needs, promoting their rights to a safe environment and protecting their rights to survival, development and well-being in society. This in turn contributes to maintaining/enhancing the credibility and ability of UNICEF to provide programme services for mothers and children that promotes greater social equality and inclusion in the country. Minimum requirements: - Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in International Development, International Studies, Anthropology, Psychology, Education, Social Science, Sociology or any other related field is required. - Work Experience: At least 2 (two) years of relevant work experience in Social Development Planning and Management in Adolescent & Youth Development related areas and any other related field is required. - Skills: The successful candidate will demonstrate strong programme management, communication, collaboration, and partnership building skills, along with confidence in using digital tools and adapting to new technologies. - Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required. - Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset. - Experience within UNICEF, the broader UN system or international organizations is desirable. - Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is a distinct asset. - Relevant country-level and field experience, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts.
