UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA's services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East with more than 30,000 staff. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions. The Vocational education Assistant is reporting to Chief of Technical and Vocational Education Training
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent: 1- Coordinating and overseeing intervention cycle of Project, including vocational education together with on the job training & placement service (to the extent possible). 2- Conducting market surveys and define specializations needed by the market, And establishes a network with employers to identify available vacancies. 3- Advertising and registering applicants for vocational Technical courses , and communicate to trainees the available vacancies . 4- Following up the progress and evaluation of short term courses. 5- Establishing & maintaining up-to-date database and prepares progress reports on the conducted short term courses and statistics of employment & submit it to the T.V.E.T management . 6- Collecting success stories . 7- Performing other duties as assigned .

Two years diploma from an accredited educational institution in economics, project management or Business administration or DTC diploma in the same mentioned specialization
Job - Specific Qualification

At least 2 years' experience in an educational project, community based project or youth projects is required At least 2 years' experience with office practice is required
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, EnglishandArabic are required. Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
- Contract Type: Daily Paid Assignment for up to three months, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need. - Grade and Salary: Grade 9 Daily Rate 25.63 $. The salary may be subject to a reduced work schedule. Additional benefits: - 1 day Annual Leave and 1 day of sick leave for each completed month of service. - This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates.
