For every child, the right to hope UNICEF works towards the realization of the rights of every child as enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Under UNICEF's Strategic Plan 2026-2029, a new organizational ambition has been established through Impact Goal 5: to ensure that 500 million children are better protected from disasters and climate and environmental risks. To contribute to this goal, the Climate Partnerships team within the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) is working to leverage the partnerships, resources, and financing mechanisms required to mobilize significantly greater investment for children within the climate finance ecosystem. This includes supporting UNICEF's efforts to strengthen its positioning as a credible and influential actor in climate finance, develop compelling value propositions and financing models that unlock new sources of climate capital, strengthen relationships with key financial partners, and translate strategic engagement into tangible funding opportunities. The team also seeks to strategically position UNICEF and its partners across UNFCCC processes, COPs, and other influential global platforms, while maximizing the opportunities presented by high-value events and engagements through 2027 and beyond to enhance visibility, strategic representation, knowledge exchange, and intelligence gathering. As the climate finance landscape continues to evolve and become increasingly competitive, access to capital depends not only on the quality of programmes, but also on the strength of partnerships, investment propositions, institutional credibility, and strategic engagement with key stakeholders. To effectively deliver on these ambitions and respond to emerging opportunities, UNICEF requires access to highly specialized expertise that may not always be available through existing staff capacity. Such expertise may be needed to support climate finance mobilization, partnership development, strategic positioning, proposal development, donor and investor engagement, intelligence gathering, policy analysis, strategic communications, advocacy, capacity building, and participation in major climate-related events and processes. To ensure timely access to this specialized expertise and enable the rapid mobilization of qualified experts as needs arise, UNICEF seeks to establish a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with individual consultants possessing the necessary expertise and experience in climate finance, climate partnerships, fundraising and resource mobilization, climate adaptation, advocacy and climate-related events. This support would enable UNICEF to strengthen its ability to influence the climate finance agenda, attract strategic partners, mobilize substantially greater resources for children, and contribute to the achievement of Strategic Plan Impact Goal 5.
