## Recruitment Officer, West Bank - Organization:UNRWA - United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East - Country:occupied Palestinian territory - Office:UNRWA in Gaza, occupied Palestinian territory Organizational Setting and Reporting The incumbent of this post : 1. Supervisor: The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Human Resources Career Management Officer (HRCMO). 2. Supervisees: The incumbent of this post supervises a number of professional and/or general services staff members. The incumbent: 1. Manages the day-to-day operation of recruitment services and activities, including the revision of vacancy advertisements to ensure compliance with post descriptions, production of effective material for advertisements, preparation, in coordination with the hiring office, of technical tests, and monitoring the process of screening applications against established criteria and raising discrepancies with the concerned department when necessary; advises the HRCMO; accordingly. 2. Prepares for interviews; ensures that recruitments are carried out in accordance with the overall recruitment plan; incorporates gender perspectives; participates in interview panels and completes interview reports for local recruitment in the field. 3. Initiates contact with job applicants and provides guidance and feedback to internal and external candidates on matters related to the recruitment process and employment with the Agency. 4. Advises the HRCMO and Field Human Resources Officer (FHRO) on recruitment issues; assists in the development of the annual Field recruitment plan; contributes to the refinement of the Field’s recruitment guidelines and selection procedures. 5. Produces periodic statistical reports on recruitment activities for use inside the Agency, including data on rosters, new incumbent profiles, and shortlisted candidates; produces other related reports, as required. 6. Contacts counterparts in missions, non-governmental organizations and national recruitment services, with regard to Agency vacancies and applications as required. 7. Provides updates to Programmes, Service Programmes’ heads and Chiefs of Area Office on recruitment issues, as required. 8. Oversees the development of appropriate tools for assessment in coordination with hiring offices. 9. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. A “yes” answer doesn’t necessarily lead to exclusion from future work at UNRWA, yet misrepresentation in providing accurate/complete info can lead to disqualification/termination of appointment, if hired. At least five years of progressively responsible relevant experience in experience in human resources management, including two years in recruitment and succession planning at a supervisory level is required. Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment Contract Type: Fixed Term Appointment for 1 year; including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need. Grade and Salary: Grade 15 Monthly basic salary USD 1,592.60 payable in JD at UN monthly exchange rate. (The salary may be subject to a reduced work schedule.) Other benefits: - The Jerusalem Allowance will be paid subject to eligibility criteria. The agency reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue this benefit. - UNRWA reserves the right to update/review benefits subject to applicable rules, regulations, and funding availability. Jerusalem allowance payable in JD at UNRWA rate: a. The amount of this Allowance shall be NIS 2000 per month for each eligible Area staff holding Jerusalem ID and working in any of UNRWA installations in West Bank Field; or b. NIS 1000 per month for each eligible Area staff working in any of UNRWA installations in East Jerusalem and not holding Jerusalem ID. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.4% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable). Additional benefits: - 2 days of sick leave for each completed month of service. - 14 weeks of Maternity Leave. - 2 weeks paternity leave.
