## Programme Management Assistant, Banjul, Gambia - Organization:RCS - Resident Coordinator System - Office:RCS in Banjul, Gambia Organizational Setting and Reporting The UN Secretary-General's launched on 1 January 2019 a bold and new global reform which repositioned the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently with the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), under the leadership of an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator - the highest-ranking official of the UN Development System and Representative of the UN Secretary-General at country level - support countries in the achievement of their development priorities and the attainment of the SDGs. This position is in the Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) in Banjul, The Gambia. The Programme Management Assistant works under the overall guidance of and reports to the Head of the RCO, The Gambia. Within limits of delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Head of RCO, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: - Provides assistance in support of planning, coordination and implementation activities related to the preparation of the 2026 Common Country Analysis (CCA) update and other analytical products of the Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO). - Researches, compiles, analyses, summarizes and presents quantitative and qualitative information relevant to the Common Country Analysis, Cooperation Framework implementation and other RCO priorities, including SDG data, demographic trends, socio-economic information, sector studies, vulnerability assessments and other development-related evidence. - Assists in the collection, organization and review of information from UN entities, government institutions, development partners, academia and other stakeholders, ensuring that relevant evidence and reference materials are available for analytical processes. - Assists in the preparation, maintenance and updating of evidence matrices, source libraries, reference documentation and other knowledge management tools to support analytical and coordination activities. - Supports the identification of information gaps and assists in the preparation of summaries, background notes, evidence briefs and other analytical inputs for review by the Head of RCO and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT). - Serves as a focal point for coordination and follow-up of CCA-related consultations, working sessions and inter-agency engagements, involving liaison with UN entities, government counterparts, development partners, academia and other stakeholders. - Assists in the preparation of agendas, briefing materials, background documents and reference packages for consultations, workshops, meetings and other coordination activities. - Monitors and tracks comments, inputs, recommendations and follow-up actions arising from consultations and review processes; assists in ensuring timely incorporation of feedback into draft products. - Supports the drafting, formatting, review and version control of analytical products, reports, consultation summaries, issue briefs, presentations and other knowledge products. - Collaborates with programme and coordination colleagues in the preparation of analytical materials and reports to support decision-making, policy dialogue, Cooperation Framework implementation and SDG acceleration efforts. - Assists with the collection and analysis of data, and preparation of data presentations, visualizations, reports and knowledge products for information sharing, planning, reporting and decision-making purposes. - Supports knowledge management, learning and information-sharing initiatives by organizing documentation, lessons learned, knowledge products and materials that promote evidence-based decision-making and institutional learning. - Assists in the preparation of presentation materials, consultation briefs, annotated outlines, talking points and other communication products related to RCO priorities. - Prepares, maintains and updates electronic and paper files, databases, records and other information management systems; generates periodic and ad hoc reports, statistical summaries and background materials as required. - Drafts correspondence and communications related to coordination, analytical and knowledge management activities, and contributes to periodic reporting requirements of the RCO. - Supports the use of data, analytics, digital tools, innovation and strategic foresight approaches in RCO planning, coordination, reporting and knowledge management activities. - Provides guidance and support, as required, on information management, documentation and knowledge-sharing processes within the team. - Performs other related duties as assigned. Understanding of the functions and organization of the work unit and of the organizational structure and respective roles of related units. Ability to perform analysis, modeling and interpretation of data in support of decision-making. Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given. Completion of High school diploma or equivalent, is required. Additional certification or training on administration, audit, finance, business administration, programme/project management or a similar area, is highly desirable.
