The Child Protection Officer reports to the Chief of Field Office for supervision. The Child Protection Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results. This includes support in Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) programming. H/She prepares, executes, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting. Minimum requirements: - Education:Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in one of the following fields is required: International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, International Law, or another relevant social science field. - A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in Child Protection related areas are required. - Strong understanding of Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) programming including case management, PSS, community systems and referral mechanism. - Strong knowledge of child safeguarding, data protection, and ethical monitoring practices, including the ability to monitor child protection activities, conduct assessments, and use digital tools like CPIMS+/Primero. - Knowledge and application of the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action to ensure quality, accountability, and context-appropriate programming. - Ability to manage multiple partnerships with the government and CSOs. - Skills:child safeguarding, data protection, ethical monitoring practices, digital tools like CPIMS+/Primero, Strong coordination and representation ability, Ability to manage multiple partnerships with the government and CSOs. - Language Requirements:Proficiency in English is required. - Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset. - Experience in refugee settings is strongly desirable. - Strong coordination and representation ability to engage in multiple stakeholders including coordination architectures. - High cultural sensitivity and ability to engage respectfully with the Rohingya community. - Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset. - Relevant experience in programme development in child protection related areas in a UN system agency or international organization is considered as an asset. - Experience in both development and humanitarian context is an added advantage. - Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
