Purpose of Assignment: The Child Protection Officer (NOA) responsible for Bhasan Char will allocate 70% of time to supporting effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the child protection programme in Bhasan Char. The remaining 30% of their time will be dedicated to supporting Cox's Bazar programme, specifically in the areas of programme monitoring and community-based child protection. The Child Protection Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the child protection programmes/projects through the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical programme information while learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures to support the development and formulation of the Child Protection Programme within the Country Programme. The Child Protection Officer will work in close collaboration with the Bhasan Char Coordination architecture and Bhasan Char stakeholders while maintaining close coordination with the Cox's Bazar coordination platform Child Protection Sub-Sector, GBV Sub-Sector, and associated working groups to ensure that children and families receive child protection support in accordance with agreed sectoral guidance, standards, and best practices. As a national officer, she/he will facilitate communication and dialogue with local stakeholders including affected population aim to strengthen protective environment for children and families. The Child Protection Officer will report to the Child Protection Manager (P4) and closely work with the Child Protection Specialist (P3) for technical guidance. Minimum Requirements: - Education: A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Social Science, Law, Social Work or any other related fields is required. - Work Experience:At least 1 year of relevant work experience in Child Protection is required. - Skills:Experience of working with the UN, NGOs, and/or relevant sectors and subsectors is required. Strong coordination and communication skills are required. - Language Requirements:Fluency in English and Bangla are required. - Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
